More Than Seven Decades of High-Tolerance Manufacturing Expertise
Flowforming and cold forming deliver what aerospace and defense programs require most: seamless, high-strength, lightweight components with no welds, joints, or assembly-related failure points. NETFORM has produced these parts at scale since 1953 across our Michigan and Ohio operations, supporting high-volume programs where dimensional consistency, material integrity, and repeatable tolerances are non-negotiable.
Purpose-Built for Aerospace & Defense Requirements
Flowforming Capabilities
Our flowforming processes produce seamless cylindrical and conical geometries with precisely controlled wall thickness, tight concentricity, and high structural integrity. These characteristics directly align with A&D applications including rocket motor cases, actuation cylinders, and high-pressure vessels.
Cold Forming Capabilities
Cold forming produces high-strength, near-net-shape components with minimal machining stock and preserved grain flow throughout the part. For fatigue-critical applications common in aerospace and defense assemblies, grain integrity is not a secondary consideration. It is a primary design requirement our process satisfies by default.
Precision Machining Capabilities
Aerospace & defense components often require tight-tolerance machining after forming, whether that means hitting critical surface finishes or cutting complex features that the forming process alone can’t produce. NETFORM Shelby machines flowformed and cold formed components in-house. Vickers handles high-volume production machining of forgings and castings. TapeMaster adds 5-axis CNC capability for complex geometries. Together these facilities act as one integrated partner from formation to finish.
Prepared for the Next Generation of A&D Programs
NETFORM is expanding into aerospace and defense supply chains. We are ready to support:
- Early design and feasibility reviews
- Design-for-manufacturing (DFM) consultation
A Midwest Manufacturing Network Built for Precision
Our core flowforming and cold forming operations are located in Maumee, Ohio and Shelby Township, Michigan. We operate alongside our family of companies:
- Vickers Engineering (New Troy, MI) — precision steel and aluminum machining
- TapeMaster (Troy, MI) — precision machining for low-volume projects, ITAR-registered and AS9100D-certified
Across the group, we maintain IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, with the traceability, process controls, and documentation standards modern A&D procurement requires.
